I joined Ladies Circle after I moved to a new area, with a 2 week old baby. To begin with after having my first baby I found it hard to meet people and make friends, after a while I got into the swing of going to baby groups, one of which happened to be run by a member of Hebden Bridge Ladies Circle. After a few months they were running a baby shopping event and I was persuaded to go along. At the event I met 3 other members of Ladies Circle who all had babies around the same age as my son. Very soon I started going along to meetings and joined not long after.
That was now 11 years ago and since then I have done so many things with Ladies Circle that I wouldn’t have done otherwise and made many firm friends all over the country. In the last 10 years I have been Hebden Bridge Circle chair twice and treasurer 7 times. I have also been Area 3 Treasurer 2013-2015 and Area 3 chair 2017-2018. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as your National Treasurer and looking forward to the coming year, this last year has made me decide on a career change and a move into accountancy!
I recently moved again to a new area and was surprised that there was no active circle in my new area, so have decided I need to do something about that!!
Yours in Friendship
National Treasurer 2018/2020
