Gift Fair 2012 - 13,700 raised for charities

Harpenden Circle is delighted to announce that our annual Gift Fair raised £13,700 for our two nominated charities, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and Harpenden Seniors Club.

"It was great to see so many local residents supporting our Gift Fair this year.  Our two charities will benefit greatly from the money raised and everyone enjoyed two days of festive shopping which definitely marked the start of the Christmas period in Harpenden." - Gift Fair Chair, Jemma Finch.

Held in Harpenden Public Halls, the two day event had over 50 stallholders selling a range of Christmas Gifts and Arts and Crafts.  A choir from St Nicholas CE VA Primary School entertained visitors with Christmas Carols and ladies from Harpenden Circle ran the cafe which saw queues to buy delicious home-made cakes and hot snacks.

The event was also attended by the Harpenden Town Mayor and her deputy as well as the National President of Ladies Circle, Marj Aird and her team, who had come to see how this award winning event was run.

"We were delighted at the success of this year's Gift fair, especially in the current economic climate and are thrilled to be able to give the money raised to such worthwhile causes. Thanks to everyone who came along, I hope they enjoyed the event and managed to stock up on some Christmas gifts." - Harpenden Circle Chair, Lynne David.

Cheques will be presented to the charities early in 2013.  See Events for further details
