The 'Zumbathon' seemed to be a long time in the planning but it was worth it when we raised in excess of £1500 and had fun in the process! For those of you who don't know what zumba is, it is a fun and energetic dance based fitness class designed by the Colombian dancer, Beto Perez and a few members of our circle have been 'hooked' for many years!
With the help of the wonderful fitness instructor Bev Nichols we arranged a 2 hour zumba party full of our favourite dances and were joined by atleast 85 other zumba and fitness fans who wanted to help raise some money for this years charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. We were extremely proud to announce in the short interval that we had raised £1645 thanks to all involved!
We were also joined by local councillor Nathan Hartley who Bev persuaded to come along. He seemed to enjoy himself and joined in with all the dances!
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to organise this amazing fundraiser, Bevs Fitness (for leading the whole thing!!!), all the dancers and everyone who donated raffle prizes!
It was an amazing night full of fun and smiles and who knows we may even gain some new members..............
