Lichfield 7th Scout groups benefit thanks to fundraising efforts by Lichfield Ladies Circle
The group held its cheque presentation with the Beaver Pageant colony on Tuesday the 10th of June 2014; the donated funds have gone towards buying a cooker to help allow the Beavers experience their first overnight camp from the age of seven.
The group held its cheque presentation evening after a year of fundraising and social events which all helped contribute to the raised funds.
Local Chair Sue Kershaw presented the cheque of £280 to the Lichfield 7th Scout Group, who made their pledge for support to the Ladies Groupcommented that “with the money to buy the stove we hope that it helps the pledge of the beavers group so it enables them to now sleep in a hut that provides cooking facilities on overnight stays”
In the past the lack of cooking facilities has limited the overnight camps available to the Beavers as with no cooking facilities available at the hut, other than camping stoves, food provision for both for Beavers and leaders has been restricted and limited.
