Race for Life: Lichfield Ladies aim to help awareness of Cancer.
Lichfield Ladies Circle took part in the Cancer Research UK’ s Race for Life- 8 ladies with some of their families have been training and fundraising to help raise money and give this noble charity as much money as they can!
Sue Kershaw Chair of the Lichfield Ladies Circle, “This is a devastating subject that most people/Families can relate too, the world is moved with stories of brave people who have overcome cancer and have their own reasons for participating in such an inspiring race. These stories motivate every single person that takes part every single step of the way. The Lichfield Ladies Circle goal is to help raise awareness and fundraise for such a worthwhile cause, this will help to save lives; through helping towards research in a bid to finding a cure against this dreadful disease.”
The race for life is a fun day, it is not meant to be competitive the ladies took their groups culture to the race through their vows of friendship and fundraising by “running, walking and dancing together” across the finish line.
The race for life is symbolic to this group as it is an army of woman and families that join together and confront the deadly disease.
The ladies are still raising money and Jodie McCabe from the group has set up a group just giving page, they have currently raised £542 with a donations still coming in.
