Lincolnshire Ladies Circles to become baking heroes in support of BBC Children in Need
Lincolnshire Ladies’ Circles are all set to join the BBC Children in Need’s Bake a Difference campaign by holding a cake sale on Wednesday 29 October. The money raised will go on to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
This one off event will take place at The Cornhill in Lincoln between 10am – 4pm. Members of the ladies’ group will be hosting a huge cake sale and icing cakes in the city centre. Bake a Difference will also include its very own Bake Off style challenge, with some of our more creative Ladies Circle members having a timed competition to ice a cake worthy of the Lincoln Children in Need Ice Off Title.
Members and friends are busy baking cakes across the county in readiness for this fun day supporting BBC Children in Need. Many Members are also busy mums and this charity is always one the ladies are keen to support.
Ladies Circle is an international organisation for women aged 18-45, consisting of over 130 clubs nationwide, as well as international clubs across the world in 35 countries. Our aim is to encourage making friends, fun, socialising and fundraising activities. There are seven Ladies’ Circles across Lincolnshire.
Ladies Circle is proud to be an official partner of BBC Children in Need. In 2013 Ladies Circle along with Round Table raised over £100,000.
Speaking of their efforts, Clare Johnson Smith, Area Chairman said “I’m really looking forward to our bake sale and would like to thank those who have helped me in the planning. It’s great fun supporting BBC Children in Need and to know I will be helping support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.”
BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraising heroes and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to support the Appeal. Whether through cake sales, dance offs or treasure hunts, every penny of the money raised goes towards supporting projects across the UK.
Every single penny raised by BBC Children in Need goes directly to UK projects working with children and young people who may be affected by neglect, abuse or poverty, or those who have faced challenges in their lives such as serious illness, disabilities and psychological disorders.
