From Cow to Cone with Dereham Ladies Circle
With summer finally deciding to show itself what better way to celebrate than with a big dollop of ice cream!!
On 11th June, Dereham and District Ladies Circle (together with their follow-on group Tangent) met up at Norfolk Farmhouse Ice Cream: http://www.norfolkfarmhouseicecream.co.uk/
Having farmed for generations, the Dann Family started Norfolk Farmhouse Ice Cream in 2007 using milk from their Holstein Friesian cows and eggs from their free range poultry sites. They now supply ice cream and sorbet to many local hotels, restaurants, pubs and cafes – providing a whole range of delicious flavours with the option to customise whatever flavour you fancy too!
Simon Dann told us abit about the background which led them to diversify their farming business to making ice cream and sorbet… then it was all hands on deck as we made our own strawberry meringue ice cream version and Simon generously distributed some samples – yummy!!
A sample of the flavours included Tiramisu and Coffee; Vanilla Royale; Strawberry; Caramel; Banana and Toffee; Chocolate; Mint Choc Chip; Honey Butterscotch; Lemon and Prosecco; and more… so many and so delicious – we tried them all!!
At the end of the evening we each went home with a large carton of the ice cream we’d help to make plus popped in to the farm shop to buy more ice cream and sorbet flavours plus strawberries and free range eggs.
A really productive evening and great to share with friends. Check out our photo gallery:
