CELEBRATING 80 YEARS OF FUN, FRIENDSHIP AND FUNDRAISING
On the 20th June 2016, past and present members of Ladies Circle gathered in their hundreds at the St John’s Hotel in Solihull to commemorate its 80th birthday!
Over 550 women attendended the sold-out 1936 themed event which will included stalls, cocktails, gifts, a three-course sit down meal, entertainment, raffle and inspirational guest speakers - Rosie Green, beauty editor and columnist at Red Magazine and two members of the Coxless Crew, the all-female team who rowed across the Pacific ocean last year.
Alex Bennett, National President of Ladies Circle 2016/17 said: “Ladies Circle is an amazing association that exists to offer the best opportunity possible for young women to connect, have a great time and give something back to the community. Though the club was established in a different time, the original principles of friendship and service remain as relevant today as ever.”
Lara Lachello, 80th celebrations event chair added: “We put on a fantastic event which truly represents our impressive history and achievements".
We raised a fabulous £5,000 via the raffle and t-shirts sale, for our chosen charity Coppafeel. CoppaFeel! is about more than discovering a cancer diagnosis. It’s about empowering ourselves to be proactive about our own health and body, as well as our outlook on life. It’s about knowing your boobs; knowing that if you do find something, you know what to do and if found early, you have many options. Put simply, breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as they continue to be supported by people like us, they will do all they can do to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen. They are passionately committed to affecting real change.
